Budanov confirmed that Mykolaiv buys cars for DIMDU fighters: «Thanks to the local community»

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed that they had appealed to the Mykolaiv City Council with a request to provide the fighters with transport, in particular, pickup trucks and SUVs.

This information was voiced by Andrii Yusov, a representative of the DIMDU press service, in a comment to a NikVesti correspondent.

It is not uncommon for intelligence agencies to contact local councils with similar requests, because cars are only consumables for the military, says Andrii Yusov, noting that the DIMDU is grateful for the opportunity to support the Security and Defense Forces.

— When we talk about the activities of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, it is natural that there are few comments here and such information is not provided separately, but yes, we can confirm that the Main Directorate of Intelligence has turned to the Mykolaiv City Council with a corresponding request regarding the provision of assistance for vehicles. It is no secret to anyone that in war, transport, in particular, pickups and SUVs, is expendable. And yes, our units and special forces definitely need such additional cars. It is very good that local self-government bodies respond to similar needs of combat units and, instead of current needs, improvements or other things, find an opportunity to support the Security and Defense Forces, — said Andrii Yusov.

The representative of the administration could not answer for sure whether assistance was provided from Mykolaiv before, but added that a similar practice is carried out with Kyiv and Vinnytsia.

— I am not ready to answer now, but in general, such a practice of interaction with local self-government bodies exists. In particular, with Kyiv, with Vinnytsia, and now with Mykolaiv. Therefore, it is a good practice and we thank the local communities who understand the need for the Security and Defense Forces, — he added.

Today, November 13, it became known that the Mykolaiv Parks utility company plans to purchase eight Suzuki cars for 7 million 155 thousand hryvnias.

Later, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, published an «explanation for zradophiles» regarding the tender for the purchase of eight cars by the city's utility company. According to him, these cars are intended for defenders, but due to the limitations of the tender rules, they cannot be clearly described as «cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine» (AFU).

It is worth noting that the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv parks» canceled the previous tenders for the purchase of cars. At that time, it was planned to purchase 7 specialized RENAULT DUSTER ZEN cars. Already after that, tenders were announced again for the purchase of other cars — Suzuki.

Prior to that, the Mykolaiv Parks utility company was going to purchase tree and bush seedlings for 7 million 726 thousand 475 hryvnias. After that, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, asked the townspeople whether it is worth buying these seedlings, and later suggested that 7 million hryvnias should be used for the purchase of pickup trucks for the military. With these funds it was planned to plant new trees and bushes in the city.
