Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych published an «explanation for zradophiles» regarding the publicized tender for the purchase of eight cars by the city's utility company. According to him, these cars are intended for the military, but due to the limitations of tender rules, they cannot be clearly described as «cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine» (AFU).

He wrote about this in his Telegram.

As you know, Mykolaivski Parky Communal Enterprise plans to purchase eight Suzuki cars for 7 million 155 thousand hryvnias.

The mayor emphasized that the money, which was originally planned to be spent by CE «Parks» on planting trees, is now being used to purchase cars, which will be transferred to the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

— Clarification for zradophiles (the neologism «zradophiles» (traitors) was used to describe people who are skeptical of everything and are always dissatisfied, looking for betrayal everywhere, — note) Eight cars purchased by «Mykolaiv Parks» for DIMDU. You yourself voted for the money, which the company planned to spend on planting trees, to be directed to cars for the military. These are the funds. Well, we, as a local government body, cannot directly write the phrases «cars for the Armed Forces» in the tender. We purchase them for the enterprise first, and then transfer them. We will report on the transfer of all purchased cars, — the mayor noted.

In particular, according to the technical documentation, the company is going to buy five Suzuki Vitara 1.6 AT 4WD GL+ cars, two Suzuki Vitara 1.6 AT 2WD GL cars, as well as one specialized Suzuki S-CROSS 1.4L BOOSTERJET 6 MT 2WD GL car.

Oleksandr Sienkovych added that a similar purchase will be announced on Monday, and these cars will also be intended for the military.

It is worth noting that the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv parks» canceled the previous tenders for the purchase of cars. At that time, it was planned to purchase 7 specialized RENAULT DUSTER ZEN cars. Already after that, tenders were announced again for the purchase of other cars — Suzuki.

Prior to that, the Mykolaiv Parks utility company was going to purchase tree and bush seedlings for 7 million 726 thousand 475 hryvnias. After that, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, asked the townspeople whether it is worth buying these seedlings, and later suggested that 7 million hryvnias should be used for the purchase of pickup trucks for the military. With these funds it was planned to plant new trees and bushes in the city.
