Prisoners of war exchange: Ukraine managed to free another 49 defenders and civilians from Russian captivity

On Friday, September 13, Ukraine welcomed 49 of its citizens who returned home after being in captivity. Among those released are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the National Police, the State Border Service, as well as civilians.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Among those released is Leniie Umierova, a Ukrainian woman who was captured by Russian forces when she came to care for her sick father. Several defenders of Azovstal who fought for Mariupol also returned home, including military medic Viktor Ivchuk.
«I thank our entire team, which ensures the release of prisoners and hostages from Russian captivity. And I would like to note separately each of our Ukrainian units that replenish the exchange fund for our state. All our soldiers who capture the Russian occupier, all our services, which neutralize Russian saboteurs and collaborators, bring the release of our people closer. We must bring home all our soldiers and civilians,» said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
We will remind you that in Mykolaiv every week there is a rally of relatives and relatives of military prisoners. Among the protesters are the relatives of captured Mykolaiv soldiers.
So, on Sunday, September 8, in the center of Mykolaiv, about 150 caring residents of the city came to a rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war and missing persons.
