Yesterday, November 29, a Congress of local and regional authorities dedicated to energy independence was held in Mykolaiv.
This was reported in the press service of Mykolaiv RMA.
Yevhen Hladkov, head of the housing and communal services department of Mykolaiv RMA, said that solar panels with a total capacity of 1.3 MW have already been installed in 25 social facilities in the region. In addition, 29 solar power plants with a capacity of 1.6 MW operate at water supply and sewage enterprises.
Separately, it was noted that in 2024 it is planned to introduce cogeneration plants with a total capacity of 10.1 MW.
In particular, four installations with a capacity of 5.6 MW are already in operation, and during 2025-2026 it is planned to introduce new facilities based on renewable energy sources: with the use of solar energy — three units with a capacity of 30.9 MW and wind — six units with a capacity 28.8 MW.
Energy efficiency advisor Dmytro Kolosovskyi said that Mykolaiv Oblast already has agreements with donors and businesses regarding the implementation of new energy efficiency projects. In particular, the project and cost documentation for their development foresees expenses for more than 40 projects.
Yevhen Hladkov appealed to the representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Regional Development with a request to help attract technical assistance for arranging cogeneration plants, in particular for medical institutions.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk said that a group of 30 specialists is ready to help communities in the preparation of technical documentation.
«We created a group of 30 specialists who will be able to provide appropriate technical assistance to local communities and communes. As for donors, most institutions interact with the central authorities. That's why our key task is to prepare the proposal with the highest possible quality and to receive funds as soon as possible,» said Mykola Kolisnyk.
Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolaiv RMA, emphasized the importance of energy independence for each community and called on local leaders to actively participate in the formation of energy plans, which will allow attracting investments in «green» energy.
«The issue of increasing the level of energy independence of regions and territorial communities is under special control of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is one of the key points of the Sustainability Plan. Each of us must make maximum efforts so that islands of energy independence appear in every community of the region,» noted the head of the region.
He noted that «green» energy is the future not only for the Mykolaiv Oblast, but also for the whole of Ukraine.
Previously, the correspondents of NikVesti reported that Mykolaiv and 70% of the region remained without electricity for more than 30 hours due to the consequences of massive rocket fire that occurred on the night of November 28.
The lights in the city went out around 5:40 a.m. on November 28. Despite an attempt to restore the supply, electricity appeared only briefly in the evening, after which it disappeared again.
After 37 hours of blackout around 6:00 p.m. on November 29, power supply was gradually restored in Mykolaiv.
