Hungarian airline Wizz Air plans to resume flights to Ukraine within six to eight weeks after the ceasefire.
The company's CEO Josef Varadi told Reuters.
The plan is to resume 30 routes within six to eight weeks after Russia's official ceasefire. Josef Varadi noted that Wizz Air has a clear plan to return to the Ukrainian market and is considering the possibility of resuming flights as soon as possible.
According to Josef Varadi, the airline plans to reopen its bases in Kyiv and Lviv six months after the end of the war. Passenger traffic is expected to reach 5 million seats per year on 60 routes.
It is noted that prior to the full-scale invasion, Wizz Air held 10.1% of the Ukrainian airline market.
As a reminder, Ryanair is also developing a plan to resume flights from Ukraine amid US President Donald Trump's announcement that the war is over.
