This was announced by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
According to him, Lviv has one of the highest rates of 5G-ready smartphone penetration in Ukraine. Currently, more than 20 base stations ready to work with 5G technology have already been built in the city.
After approval by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and successful testing, the connection is planned to be scaled up. In particular, 5G is expected to start operating in Borodianka in January, in Kharkiv in February, and later in other cities of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that a pilot project for 5G mobile communications will be launched in two Ukrainian cities within the next few weeks.
