Almost 2,000 traffic accidents occurred in Mykolaiv over the course of a year, killing 28 people

During 2025, 1,950 traffic accidents were recorded in Mykolaiv.

This is stated in the police response to an information request from NikVesti.

According to law enforcement officials, 24 accidents resulted in fatalities, and another 501 accidents resulted in injuries. In total, 28 people died in traffic accidents in the city during the year, and another 625 people suffered injuries of varying severity.

The police also provided separate statistics on accidents involving pedestrians. There were 177 such accidents in 2025. Over the year, 13 people were killed and 168 were injured.

We remind you that in Mykolaiv, the police are investigating a traffic accident that killed a 25-year-old female pedestrian. The accident occurred on the evening of 10 January. According to preliminary data, a 20-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer hit a woman who was crossing the road outside a pedestrian crossing.

Also, in the village of Bereznehuvate in the Mykolaiv region, a woman died after being hit by a car on 10 January. The driver, who was previously detained by law enforcement officers, has been officially notified of the suspicion.
