Lithuania will transfer nearly a hundred generators to Ukraine, Zelensky says about his visit to Vilnius

On Sunday, 25 January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy began a working visit to Lithuania to meet with President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda.

This was reported by the Office of the President.

During the talks, Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed his Lithuanian counterpart about the daily Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. According to him, on Saturday night alone, the Russian Federation launched more than 370 strike drones and 21 missiles of various types at civilian and energy infrastructure.

In response, Lithuania decided to help Ukrainian cities and communities by providing nearly a hundred generators.

The leaders paid special attention to military cooperation and the implementation of joint defence projects. In particular, they discussed Lithuania's proposal to open a weapons export platform in Vilnius. They also discussed the amount of Lithuania's next contribution to the PURL initiative and cooperation within the SAFE programme.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared details about the meetings in Abu Dhabi between the Ukrainian, American and Russian delegations. The President stressed that Ukraine, as always, is doing everything possible on its part to end the war.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced that international partners would transfer more than 6,000 units of large energy equipment to Ukraine and make cash contributions to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund.
