During a session, deputies of the Pivdennoukrayinsk City Council in Mykolaiv region approved the community's brand book.
The decision was made at the 68th session of the city council, according to NikVesti.
Nelia Zakharchenko, head of the Youth, Sports and Culture Department, noted that the city's brand is based on a heart-shaped logo. The images of crossed sabres, a falcon, Gard Island, as well as local landmarks — Berehynia and churches carved into the rocks above the Southern Bug River — have become the hallmark of Pivdennoukrayinska.
Key symbols of the community:
- falcon — a Cossack symbol of the sun and light, victory and superiority, protection and freedom;
- crossed sabres — the embodiment of the heroic Cossack past of this area;
- image of the city located on the rocky bank of the Southern Bug River above a sandy beach;
- a schematic image of Gard Island on the water in the shape of the letter «G« (Gard);
- a recognisable landmark of the region — a guardian and a church carved into the rock above the river.
«The idea behind the brand is to show that Pivdennoukrainsk is a city where the past and the present combine into a single mosaic of impressions. Its brand is a story of freedom, strength, spirituality, and love for one's native land. It is a city that remembers its Cossack roots and at the same time looks confidently to the future,» is how Nelia Zakharchenko described it.
The logo is designed in colours characteristic of the local nature: amber, green and blue. As noted in the brand book, these shades symbolise the Southern Bug River, sandy beaches and green shores around the city.
The brand book was developed by the Nova Palitra design studio on behalf of the Youth, Sports and Culture Department of the South Ukrainian City Council.
Nelia Zakharchenko, head of the Youth, Sports and Culture Department, added that the brand has already been presented in the city's promotional materials. The approved logo is planned to be used for tourism and printed on souvenir products.
We would like to remind you that in Pivdennoukrainsk, deputies are proposing to reinstate the position of deputy mayor for the activities of the council's executive bodies and to reinstate Serhii Hornostai, who was previously dismissed from this position. This issue is planned to be submitted for consideration at a session of the city council.
