Plans are underway in Mykolaiv to build a modern veterans’ centre, which is set to become a hub for support, social adaptation and reintegration for male and female defenders.
This information has been published on the DREAM digital system, NikVesti repotrs.
The relevant new construction project involves building on Radisna Street. The initiator and contractor is the Department of Urban Planning, Architecture, Capital Construction and Development Project Support of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
According to the project description, the veterans’ centre is to be a modern, accessible and bright building, combining functionality and comfort. The premises are planned to feature a spacious meeting hall, multi-purpose rooms for training events, consultation rooms, as well as relaxation areas.
The building’s façade will be constructed using natural materials, symbolising resilience and openness. Inside, the design includes ergonomic furniture, modern technology and a comfortable environment for socialising and mutual support.
The aim of creating this space is to ensure the comprehensive rehabilitation of veterans, their social adaptation and integration into society. According to preliminary estimates, up to 20,000 people will be able to use the facility’s services.
The project is currently in the preparatory stage. The estimated construction period is 18 months. The cost of the works has not yet been determined.
It should be noted that in August 2024, the grand opening of the ‘Veteran Development Centre’ took place in Mykolaiv. The hub features a consultation room, a sports and rehabilitation hall, an art space, as well as a co-working and networking area.
