Misappropriation of ₴550,000: court suspends head of Mykolaiv’s sports department

Iryna Bondarenko, head of the Mykolaiv City Council’s sports department, who is suspected of embezzling over 500,000 hryvnias from the budget and of fictitious employment, has been suspended from her post by the court.

This was reported by a correspondent for NikVesti.

Today, 4 May, the Central District Court of Mykolaiv is determining a preventive measure for Iryna Bondarenko. Judge Halyna Podzihun has granted the prosecution’s request. The head of the sports department has been suspended from her post until 26 June.

As a reminder, on 29 April, Iryna Bondarenko, head of the sports department at Mykolaiv City Council, was charged with embezzlement of public funds. The sum in question is over half a million hryvnias.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych told NikVesti that Iryna Bondarenko would be suspended from her post for the duration of the investigation.
