«Bring our fathers home»: Residents of Mykolaiv took to the streets to draw attention to the captured and missing defenders

In the centre of Mykolaiv on Saturday, 13 June, around a hundred people took to the streets to raise awareness of Ukrainian servicemen who are being held captive or are considered missing in action.

This was reported by a correspondent for NikVesti.

The event was organised by the civil society organisation «Krynky: The Way Home». It was attended by relatives, friends and concerned residents.

The rally began with a minute’s silence in honour of Ukraine’s fallen defenders and a joint prayer for those who remain in captivity or whose fate remains unknown.

Participants came out with placards, flags and photographs of their relatives and friends. An installation dedicated to the servicemen who went missing during the fighting in Krynky was also unveiled during the event.

Those present emphasised that society must not forget those who have not yet returned home, and called for continued efforts to find and free them.

As a reminder, an exhibition entitled «Krynky. Never forget. Never forgive» has opened in Mykolaiv, dedicated to servicemen who went missing whilst carrying out combat missions on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region.
