The Kobleve community plans to purchase a school bus to transport pupils. A state grant from the regional budget is to be allocated for the purchase, whilst the community will provide 10 per cent co-funding — 369,000 hryvnias.

The issue of co-funding the purchase of the bus for 2026 was agreed at a meeting of the budget committee and submitted for consideration at a session of the Kobleve Village Council.

As explained during the meeting, the total cost of the bus is 3,690,000 hryvnias. Under the funding terms, 90 per cent of the amount will be covered by a state subsidy channelled through the regional budget, whilst the remaining 10 per cent is to be provided by the community.

It was also noted that the procurement project had been prepared last year. Previously, the region had proposed that communities purchase school buses on a 50-50 co-financing basis, but the Kobleve community has the opportunity to purchase the bus under revised terms.

«Generally, it’s 50–50 co-funding. But it’s very rare for the split to be 90 per cent to 10 per cent,» commission members were told at the meeting.

The need for an additional bus was explained by the fact that Kobleve currently has only one school bus. If the network of educational establishments is optimised in the future, transport will be required to bring children from Ukrainka and Tuzly.

Funds for co-financing are planned to be secured through budget reallocation. In particular, during the previous session, the remaining funds earmarked for work at the Vynohradne kindergarten and shelter were released.

The final decision on the allocation of funds is to be taken by councillors at the session.

It was previously reported that in the Mykolaiv region, 315 school buses are used to transport pupils, with a further 31 designated for transporting children in wheelchairs. At the same time, one of the ongoing problems remains the shortage of drivers, who cannot currently be exempted from mobilisation.

We would also like to remind you that six local authorities in the Mykolaiv region have received specialised school buses. Two of these are in Mykolaiv. They are to be transferred to the communal ownership of the local authorities. The total cost of the buses amounted to almost 27 million hryvnias.
