A woman suspected of helping the Kremlin's mass media to justify an aggressive war against Ukraine was detained in Kharkiv.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the woman prepared theses, which were used in commissioned materials by the central TV channels of Russia, including the talk shows of Kremlin propagandists Skabeeva and Solovyov. In particular, regarding the Russian missile and bomb attacks on the critical infrastructure of Kharkiv.
It is noted that the woman prepared such «information documents» that heroized the occupiers and denied their war crimes. In the future, her messages were «dispersed» in the stories of the mouthpieces of the Kremlin.
According to the investigation, she worked for the Kremlin media through an «intermediary». He turned out to be a Russian «military officer» who coordinated his actions with the military intelligence of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the person involved came out to him through the VKontakte social network and offered her help in the war against Ukraine. After receiving the information, the Russian «military officer» passed it on to the moderators of the central TV channels of the Russian Federation or appeared on the air with the theses of his accomplice. In order to collect data for the enemy, the person involved followed the news on Telegram channels or «in the dark» asked her acquaintances for the information she needed.
During the search of her apartment, a mobile phone with evidence of her subversive activities in favor of the Russian Federation was seized.
Investigators of the Security Service informed the detainee of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 6 of Article 111-1 (collaborative activity);
- part 1 and part 3 of article 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The woman is currently in custody. She faces up to 12 years in prison.
We will remind you that during 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine discovered 47 intelligence networks of the Russian Federation, the largest of which operated in the Mykolaiv region.
