On June 1, the Russian military fired five times with artillery and mortars Ochakiv, Stepove and Kutsurub communities of the Mykolaiv Oblast. And in the sky over the region that night, defenders shot down 11 Shahed drones.
This was announced by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim.
In particular, on June 1, the occupiers shelled the water area of Ochakiv community with mortars twice — at 07:33 and 19:04. There are no casualties.
And at 12:15 the enemy attacked Stepove community. Debris of an as-yet-unidentified missile fell in an open area outside the village. Due to the blast wave, windows were broken and roofs were damaged in seven private houses and farm buildings. There are also no casualties.
At 15:50 and 18:00, the occupiers shelled the Kutsurub community with artillery. As a result of one of the shellings in the village of Ivanivka, a fire broke out on the territory of the school's sports ground. It was quickly eliminated. No casualties.
On the night of June 2, the warehouses of an industrial enterprise caught fire in the Kutsurub community as a result of falling debris from downed enemy Shahed drones. As of 6 a.m., the fire was contained. There are no casualties.
In total, the Air Defense Forces destroyed 24 Shaheds that night, of which 11 were in the sky over Mykolaiv Oblast. Defenders also shot down enemy drones in Odesa, Kherson, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Vinnytsia regions. At night, the occupiers attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-K cruise missile, a S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile and 25 Shahed drones.
It is worth noting that the occupiers shell Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities almost every day from the territory of the temporarily occupied Kinburn spit. Earlier, the head of the RMA, Vitalii Kim, said that the shelling of Ochakiv by the Russian army has no military purpose, the occupiers are shooting to scare the locals.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, approximately 8 thousand townspeople have left Ochakiv. At the same time, according to preliminary estimates of the Ukrainian authorities , about 200 people live on the occupied Kinburn Peninsula, but contact with them has been completely lost.
Earlier, residents of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, shared with journalists how they have been living under constant shelling for more than 500 days of a full-scale invasion.
In April, NikVesti visited Ochakiv and showed in a photo report what the most dangerous point of the Mykolaiv region looks like.
