In the Kherson Region, almost half of the liberated territories have already been cleared of explosives. According to forecasts, the right-bank part of the region is planned to be completely demined by the end of 2025.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, announced this on the air of the telethon.
He noted that since the beginning of this year, about 170,000 hectares of land have been cleared of Russian mines and other explosive objects. From the moment of deoccupation until the end of 2023, a total of more than 335 thousand hectares were surveyed, which is almost half of the liberated territories.
Oleksandr Prokudin specified that the main attention is paid to demining the fields where Ukrainian farmers work. More than 193,000 mines, projectiles and streamers were found and neutralized in the already surveyed areas.
We would like to remind you that since March 2024 pyrotechnicians have examined 255 hectares in Mykolaiv Oblast and succeeded in discovering and further destroying more than 450 units of explosive ordnance.
