The government allocates money for arranging shelters in hospitals — Mykolaiv region will receive about ₴135 million

The government has allocated about one billion hryvnias for the provision of shelters in medical institutions across Ukraine. Three hospitals of the Mykolaiv region will receive part of the funds.

This is reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In total, the commission selected 45 projects with financing in the amount of about 1 billion hryvnias for the construction, reconstruction, restoration, and major repairs of the fund of protective structures.

«Taking into account the conditions of constant artillery shelling and bombing by Russia of the civil medical infrastructure of Ukraine, we are working to expand the network of shelters in hospitals and create safe conditions both for the work of doctors and for the treatment of patients,» said Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.

In a comment to NikVesti, the regional health care department of the Mykolaiv Oblast confirmed that the subvention was allocated to three regional institutions:

• KNP «Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital» — construction of a new shelter — the amount of 68.7 million hryvnias;
• KNP «Mykolaiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital» — construction of a new shelter — the amount of 51.7 million hryvnias;
• KNP «Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital of War Veterans» — capital repair of the shelter — the amount of 14.7 million hryvnias.

In addition to Mykolaiv region, funds from the state budget are received in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Ternopil, Poltava, Rivne, Kharkiv, Kherson, Lviv and Khmelnytskyi regions.

As you know, almost 193 million hryvnias are planned to be allocated for the construction of three protective structures in three medical institutions of the Mykolaiv region, as the Acting Head of the Department of Health Protection of the Mykolaiv Oblast, Iryna Tkachenko, told earlier.

We will remind that during the session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, the deputies made changes to the economic and social development program of the Mykolaiv Region for 2024, adding the repair of shelters in the above-mentioned hospitals.

Prior to this, deputies of the Mykolaiv Regional Council expressed their desire to check the condition of protective structures in medical institutions. At the same time, the construction of new civil defense protective structures is planned on the territory of the regional clinical hospital and the regional children's clinical hospital.
