On March 12, an interactive safety class was opened at the base of the Main Department of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region, where children will be taught the rules of handling explosive objects.
An interactive floor, an interactive whiteboard and a set of VR glasses were purchased here for children's education, writes NikVesti.
«We are opening a safety class today, where we will be able to teach general safety rules to children of all ages. Modern interactive equipment will allow children to absorb the studied material in full,» said Serhii Zhebra, head of the Department of Emergency Prevention.
The class is designed for 15 people aged 6 to 18. Currently, it will be open by appointment, but the organizers plan to develop a visiting schedule in the future.
«We will coordinate all these issues already with educational institutions, when it is convenient for them, we will invite and conduct classes,» said the chief inspector of the fire safety department of the emergency prevention department Oleksandr Rusavskyi.
Before the grand opening of the safety class, a small celebration was held for young visitors. Ukrainian bomb-sniffing dog Patron, the mascot of the State Emergency Service, visited the children.
After that, the children were taken to the safety class, where they held an interactive lecture on the topic of mine safety. The rescuers showed the children a cartoon and played educational games.
The implementation of the project became possible thanks to the joint work of the NGO «Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers» with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and the financial support of the Government of Denmark.
«Let's note that the opening of safety classes is one of the effective measures aimed at preventing tragic incidents related to explosive objects, as well as teaching the population, especially children, the basic rules and actions in case of discovering dangerous things. Children will know not only the numbers of emergency services, but also how to provide first aid, how to act in the event of a fire, how to respond to the detection of explosive objects and much more,» the press service of the State Emergency Service reported.
We will remind you that in August 2023, Mykolaiv rescuers created a mobile class on mine safety, which began its work in populated areas of the region.
