The Netherlands plans to help Pervomaisk in the process of rebuilding the community

The City Council of Pervomaisk plans to sign a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Municipalities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands VNG International.

The text of the memorandum is published on the website of the city council.

The signing of the memorandum is said to be part of the Sustainable Development through Improved Local Governance (SDLG) program funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

«The result of the program for Ukraine is an increase in the stability and capacity of local government in the target communities thanks to the processes of participation (participation is a democratic method of resolving conflict situations that allows any issues to be brought up for discussion, note), the ability to assess and reduce security threats, improvement of local economic development of territorial communities of conditionally safe territories of Ukraine,» the document says.

International partners should provide technical support to local self-government bodies of war-affected communities in Ukraine regarding the planning of measures and the implementation of recovery and reconstruction in the direction from the list: «Safety, security, sustainability», and/or «Local economic development and project management», and/ or «Decentralization and democratization». Expert support in selected areas will also be provided.

The memorandum will enter into force from the moment of signing and will be valid until December 31, 2025, unless otherwise decided.

We will remind that the Czech company will develop a technical task for the construction of a sewage treatment plant for Pervomaisk.
