Online media NikVesti became one of the five online publications in the Mykolaiv region that entered the All-Ukrainian Map of recommended media. The relevant media evaluation project in Ukraine was conducted by the Institute of Mass Information together with Detector Media.
In general, only 8 media of the Mykolaiv region made it to the Map of recommended media. Among them are five online publications (NikVesti, Suspilne Mykolaiv, Prestupnosti.NET, Gard.City, 0512), the Center for Journalistic Investigations, the TV channel Suspilne Mykolaiv and Ukrainian radio.Mykolaiv.
Public organizations Detector Media and the Institute of Mass Information, which presented the All-Ukrainian Map of Recommended Media, emphasized that on this online map you can find high-quality journalistic projects in all corners of Ukraine. Also, this Map is designed to help find reliable and up-to-date information in the media — its use will allow you to be confident in the quality and reliability of the selected media.
Kateryna Sereda, the editor-in-chief of online media NikVesti shared that for their publication, this is the result of many years of work within the framework of compliance with defined journalistic standards.
«Our editorial office constantly strives to become better for our readers, offering interesting materials on topical issues of the region and introducing new formats. But at the same time, we do not forget that it is important to adhere to existing standards in our work. For this, we implemented policies in various directions,» says Kateryna Sereda.
The editor-in-chief also noted that many changes in the work on compliance with standards became possible thanks to cooperation with various donors and partners who support NikVesti.
The director of the Institute of Mass Information Oksana Romaniuk said that the Map will allow users to find reliable sources of information, which will make it possible to reduce the risks of disinformation and manipulation.
«Working on the map allowed us to delve deeper into the media landscape of the country and discover many high-quality regional publications that are transparent, responsible and adhere to high standards of journalism. It's cool to see how media from all over the country get an opportunity to assert themselves and become more visible. The importance of this project lies not only in access to verified information, but also in increasing the media literacy of the population,» Oksana Romaniuk emphasized.
A total of 174 Ukrainian resources were included on the interactive map based on the results of an independent expert assessment by the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) and Media Detector: 117 online media, 5 journalistic investigative centers, 21 radio and 31 TV channels.
We will remind you that for the first time, 4 mass media from the Mykolaiv region made it to the interactive Map of recommended media back in September 2023.
