Ukraine returned a foster family with two children aged 13 and 15 to the controlled territory of the Kherson region, which was under occupation after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of Kherson RMA, reported this.
«It was possible to rescue a foster family from the occupation, in which two children, deprived of parental care, were raised. These are boys who are 13 and 15 years old,» the post reads.
It is reported that the family is currently safe under the supervision of doctors and psychologists. The head of Kherson RMA also thanked the organization Save Ukraine, which helped to take the children away.
Oleksandr Prokudin added that since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine managed to return 40 children to the controlled territory.
It will be recalled that on Thursday, February 8, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child called on Russia to stop the deportation of Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and return them to their families, considering such actions as a violation of international law.
