Kim plans to improve air defense for Mykolaiv at the expense of local budgets

The head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim said that part of the region will have additional protection from Russian air targets. A «large amount» of funds will be allocated to this need from the regional budget.
He said this during his press conference, where he reported on the work of the regional authorities based on the results of 2023, writes NikVesti.
Vitalii Kim expects to receive another part of the funds from the city budget, which will help to «close» the sky over Mykolaiv as well.
«The reserves that we have next year will be directed to one program that will secure part of the Mykolaiv region. I will not disclose the details, it is a large amount. But Mykolayiv region will have an additional measure against air targets. Yesterday he had a meeting with the mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, now he is getting acquainted with his reserves. They will join in order to block Mykolaiv,» said Vitalii Kim.
He also reported that the budget deficit of the Mykolaiv region is predicted as early as September 2024.
«Frankly, there is no money. We will have a deficit by September. First of all, it concerns salary, bonus and all that. We will have 100% utilities, and there will be issues with salaries. I hope that I will work on subventions and with internationals so that we do not lose the pace of recovery, but there is no money even for projects,» said Vitaly Kim.
Earlier, the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim said that Russian troops are trying to «hide» their missiles in the sky and complicate their flight routes over the region. In his opinion, the Russian troops can do this in order to «probe» the means of air defense and build more reliable routes for future attacks.
