The budget received ₴37.6 million for 19 objects privatised last year in Mykolaiv region: this is the highest figure since 2009

In 2024, 19 state-owned facilities were privatised in Mykolaiv region. This has contributed 37 million 600 thousand hryvnias to the budget.

This was announced at a briefing on Monday, 20 January, by Oleh Sokol, Deputy Head of the Regional Office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, Head of the Department for Ensuring the Exercise of Powers in Mykolaiv region.

A total of 28 small-scale privatisation objects were put up for sale, 19 of which have already been acquired by new owners. Another 1 object became a transitional one and is awaiting the signing of a sale agreement.

«During the year, 28 small-scale privatisation objects were put up for auction, 19 of which were acquired by new owners and sale agreements were signed. Another 1 object became a transitional object and we expect to sign the contract as soon as the registers are open. Thus, we can say that 20 facilities have new owners,» the official said.

Among them are the 3 largest facilities sold in 2024: «Research Plant of the Institute of Pulse Processes and Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine», «Mykolaiv State Experimental Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise», «Mykolaiv Maritime Agency».

Also, 14 separate property objects, 1 construction in progress and 1 social and cultural facility were privatised.

According to Oleh Sokol, the sale of these objects brought 37 million 600 thousand hryvnias to the state budget of Ukraine, which is 2.5 times more than in 2023.

«It should be noted that in 2024, all privatisation objects were put up for electronic auctions, and no objects were bought out directly. Of these, 13 objects were sold at auctions involving 4 bidders, with the starting price increasing more than 3 times during the bidding process, while the remaining objects were privatised by a single bidder at a price 15% higher than the starting price. In terms of the number of privatised objects and the amount of proceeds, this is the highest figure since 2009,» said Oleh Sokol.

As a reminder, the Government of Ukraine has unblocked the privatisation of state-owned property in Mykolaiv region. Previously, the privatisation process was suspended due to the fact that Mykolaiv region was included in the list of territories belonging to the war zone or close to the war zone.

After the privatisation process was unblocked, the regional office of the State Property Fund announced that it plans to auction four state-owned properties in 2024:

  1. The research plant of the Institute of Pulse Processes and Technologies, located at the corner of Chkalova and 6th Slobidska streets, and the recreation and science centre in Kobleve.
  2. Mykolaiv Export and Orthopaedic Enterprise, which produces prostheses and important medical devices for the Mykolaiv region.
  3. The Fish Fleet Institute at 25 Falieievska Street.
  4. Mykolaiv Maritime Agency at 3 Kabotazhnyi Descent.

In early March 2024, the unified property complex of the state enterprise «Research Plant of the Institute of Pulse Processes and Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine» together with the recreation centre «Science» in Kobleve near the Black Sea was sold at auction for 10.8 million hryvnias.
