Mykolaiv needs ₴109 million for additional payments to kindergarten staff

This was discussed during a meeting of the city council's budget committee, according to NikVesti.
Deputy Dmytro Sichko noted that the issue of additional payments for kindergarten and out-of-school caregivers had been discussed at several recent sessions and called for the maximum amount to be provided for in the budget to increase teachers' salaries.
The head of the Education Department, Hanna Lychko, said that these expenditures are not currently included in the draft budget.
«At the last session, we already raised this issue and discussed it. Oleksandr Fedorovych said then that it would be taken into account. My point is that today we are raising salaries in the city council itself. Yes, we need to do this, otherwise people will simply leave. But with the current levels of remuneration, staff will start leaving kindergartens even faster. Therefore, it is important to take into account the calculations prepared by the Department of Education: approximately ₴55 million is needed for pre-school education institutions, and up to ₴60 million for out-of-school education,» said Dmytro Sichko.
Hanna Lychko said that the first version of the calculation provided for an additional payment of ₴2,600 per teacher, which requires ₴54.5 million. And at the level of school salaries according to the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution №1286 of 8 November 2024, it is necessary to budget ₴109 million 81 thousand, excluding out-of-school institutions, that is, ₴5,200 per employee.
As a reminder, in Mykolaiv, teachers who work full-time or in a mixed format have been receiving a monthly supplement of ₴5,200 for working during the war since 1 September. The payments are made from the state subvention.
