The average pension in the Mykolaiv region is almost ₴7,000: how much do pensioners receive in the regions?

In the Mykolaiv region, pensioners receive an average of 6,903 hryvnias. In the Odesa region, payments amount to almost 7,000 hryvnias, whilst in the Kherson region they are just over 6,100 hryvnias.

This is according to data from the OpenDataBot platform, as reported by NikVesti.

It should be noted that following the annual indexation, the average pension in Ukraine has risen to over 7,200 hryvnias, which is 14% more than a year ago.

Residents of Kyiv receive the highest payments — over 9,800 hryvnias, whilst the lowest pensions are recorded in the Ternopil region — approximately 5,600 hryvnias. In only eight regions of the country does the average pension match or exceed the national average.

The largest year-on-year increase in average pensions was recorded in Rivne (+22%) and Zhytomyr (+20%) regions.

It is noted that 3.66 million pensioners receive between five and ten thousand hryvnias. The average payment in this category is almost 6,700 hryvnias. The number of pensioners receiving payments of over 10,000 hryvnias has also risen — there are now 1.86 million of them, or 19% of the total.

At the same time, almost one in four pensioners receives around 3,500 hryvnias a month, although the proportion of such payments over the year has fallen from 36% to 28%.

Around 2.8 million Ukrainians continue to work after retirement. Their average pension is higher — around 7,900 hryvnias per month.

In total, there are over ten million pensioners in Ukraine. In the first three months of 2026, their number fell by 116,000, and over the four years of full-scale war — by approximately 740,000 people.

It should be noted that in the Mykolaiv region, pensioners received an average of 6,241 hryvnias in 2025 — 303 hryvnias less than the national average.
