Mykolaiv’s chief landscaper, who earns ₴100,000 a month, lives rent-free in an apartment «through a connection»

Dmytro Chuchmay, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks», has submitted his income declaration for 2025. During this period, his official wealth has grown, and his monthly income has exceeded the 100,000 hryvnias mark. Mykolaiv’s chief landscaper has also revealed where he lives in Mykolaiv – and for free.

This is evidenced by data published in the Unified State Register of Declarations, NikVesti reports.

Dmytro Chuchmai’s main source of income is his salary at the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks». In 2025, he earned 1,217,325 hryvnias. On average, this amounts to 101,443 hryvnias per month.

By way of comparison, in 2024 his annual salary was 1,096,000 hryvnias, which averaged 91,400 hryvnias per month. Thus, over the year, the enterprise director’s average monthly income increased by 10,000 hryvnias.

His wife, Svitlana Chuchmai, who works in the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council, received 320,834 hryvnias over the year. Her monthly income amounts to approximately 26,700 hryvnias.

In the property section, Dmytro Chuchmai declared joint partial ownership of a residential house with an area of 73.1 m² and a quarter of a flat measuring 43.1 m². His wife owns a flat with an area of 76.8 m². All the property belonging to the couple remains in occupied Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast.

During his years of service in Mykolaiv, the director of the municipal enterprise has not acquired his own home; instead, as stated in the declaration, he lives rent-free in an apartment belonging to acquaintances. The couple have the right of ‘other use’ of a 45.2 m² flat. The owner of the flat is listed as Alla Husak. Her name matches the details of a estate agent in Mykolaiv who represents the «Husak» estate agency.

It should be noted that a year ago, in his declaration, Dmytro Chuchmai did not specify where he lives in Mykolaiv. At the time, he stated that he had not listed accommodation in Mykolaiv because he does not own any, but «rents», for which he pays out of his own pocket.

«This is a major concern for the city’s residents, so I would like to explain once again. The property I own is listed in my annual declaration. I have no other property in Mykolaiv. I live in a rented flat, for which I pay out of my own pocket,» said Dmytro Chuchmai in July 2025.

However, the 2025 declaration contains no information regarding rented accommodation.

At the same time, Dmytro Chuchmai holds $31,000 in cash. Furthermore, in 2025 he managed to set aside additional savings in hryvnias: he holds 151,900 hryvnias in cash and a further 148,000 hryvnias in bank accounts.

The vehicle fleet of the family of Mykolaiv’s chief landscaper has also remained unchanged: a Mazda CX-9 (2020 model) — owned by Dmytro Chuchmai (valued at 1.4 million hryvnias); a RAVON R2 (2017 model) — owned by his wife.

It should be noted that the director of the municipal landfill in Mykolaiv earns almost 147,000 hryvnias a month.
