Inflation in Ukraine: The growth of consumer prices since the beginning of the year reached 4.3%

Since the beginning of 2024, consumer prices in Ukraine have increased by 4.3%, and the inflation rate has increased by 4.1%.
This was reported in the press service of the State Statistics Service.
Consumer price growth fell to zero in July 2024 after accelerating in June to 2.2% from 0.6% in May.
«Consumer prices in July 2024 compared to June 2024 did not change, while at the same time they increased by 4.3% since the beginning of the year. Core inflation in July 2024 compared to June 2024 was 0.7%, since the beginning of the year — 4.1%,» the message says.
It is noted that core inflation rose to 0.7% in July from 0.5% in June and 0.3% in May.
On the consumer market, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 0.6% in July. Vegetables and eggs fell in price the most (by 19.6% and 11.4%).
Prices for lard and poultry meat decreased by 0.6–0.4%.
At the same time, the price of sugar rose by 12.1%, and the prices of processed grain products, sunflower oil, bread, soft drinks, rice, fruit, fermented milk products, milk, pasta, and butter rose by 3.9–0.6%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.0%, including tobacco products by 1.3%, alcoholic beverages by 0.7%.
Clothes and shoes fell in price by 3.7%, in particular, clothes — by 4.1%, shoes — by 3.4%. Transport prices increased by 0.7%, mainly due to a 0.8% increase in road passenger transport fares, as well as a 0.6% increase in fuel and lubricants.
We will remind that inflation in the consumer market of the Mykolaiv region in January 2024 compared to December 2023 was 0.8%.
