Ukraine received 2.2 billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to the prime minister, this is part of the funds provided by the EFF program, totaling 16 billion dollars.

«In order to receive them, Ukraine did important homework and successfully passed the fourth review of the program — for the first time in our bilateral relations with the IMF,» wrote Denys Shmyhal.

He also added that the transferred amount will help the government in financing critical budget expenditures, social assistance, doctors' and teachers' salaries.

It was previously reported that Ukraine is close to an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which provides for the allocation of $900 million from a $16.6 billion loan.
