Since the start of the «Pryhystok» program, Ukraine has paid ₴176 million to those who provided housing to displaced persons

The «Pryhystok» program, which helps internally displaced persons to find temporary housing, continues to operate in Ukraine.

Oksana Yelchiieva, director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, told about this during the briefing, NikVesti reports.

As of February 27, 114,873 owners of residential apartments housed 299,380 internally displaced persons and received compensation for this in the amount of 176 million hryvnias. This service is also used by communal institutions — 43 such institutions accommodated 8.9 thousand displaced people and received compensation in the amount of 21.4 million hryvnias.

«Regarding the «Pryhystok» currently there are no changes. That is, those persons who sheltered internally displaced persons continue to receive appropriate compensation,» Oksana Yelchiieva added.

Settlers in Mykolaiv Oblast

As of February 2024, there are more than 129,000 displaced people in the Mykolaiv region. According to Oksana Yelchiieva, director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Mykolaiv Oblast, out of 129,000, there are more than 74,000 women, 34,000 children, 10,000 elderly people, and 5,000 people with special needs.

In December 2023, the construction of 26 houses for displaced persons was announced in the city of Pervomaisk. Funds for this will be raised from international donors. Also, a center for IDPs will be set up in the building of a destroyed hospital in the village of Shevchenkovo.

In February, it was reported that in one district of Mykolaiv, a dormitory is being renovated, where internally displaced persons will be accommodated. When it will be ready for settlement and how it can be done, NikVesti told in more detail.

The day before, in September 2023, the Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, stated that almost 180,000 IDPs receive financial assistance by mistake. Among them was also a resident of Pervomaisk, who was found guilty in February 2024.
