In Mykolaiv, on July 22, a charity film screening of the artistic historical film Dovbush took place in the shelter of the Mykolaiv House of Fleet Officers.
The director of the film, Oles Sanin, and one of the main actors, Oleksii Hnatkovskyi, visited the screening of the tape, reports the correspondent of NikVesti.
Dovbush is a Ukrainian historical film based on the life of Oleksa Dovbush, the most famous of the Opryshky leaders, in the Carpathians. The tape is one of the most expensive Ukrainian films — 122 million hryvnias.
According to the director, before the full-scale invasion, the tape had already been completely shot, it remained to complete the work on light correction, sound, music and other technical issues. Therefore, several members of the film crew were evacuated to Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk so that they could finish the picture there. The premiere of the film took place on August 24, 2023.
«We had 100 shooting days, but they stretched for 3.5 years, due to the pandemic and a full-scale invasion, the premiere was postponed. Despite this, the film has already gathered more than 500,000 viewers in cinemas, the film has been purchased and is being shown in 27 countries of the world, and the money spent on filming has already returned,» says Oles Sanin.
Ukrainian actor Oleksii Hnatkovskyi emphasized that all Ukrainians must fight for victory.
«We must understand what messages we are sending to society, and those people who are heard in society must convey to everyone that Ukraine must fight as a whole. No one should wait, all Ukrainians should fight for our identity. Victory begins with each of us,» he added.
Oles Sanin also added that despite all the difficulties that the actors and crew went through, the film was a great success within a year.
«I wanted to create a story so that a huge number of viewers fell in love with Ukrainian heroes. I wanted the children to love and appreciate our Ukrainian heroes, and to start playing Kotygoroshko and Oleksa Dovbush. It was important to me that the people sitting in the hall and watching this film should be proud that they are also Ukrainians,» said the director.
We will remind, on March 28, the film «We, our pets and the war» was presented in Kyiv, which tells about the history of the Mykolaiv Zoo during the Great War.
