Netherlands to hand over F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine this year

Defence Minister Rustem Umierov has announced that the Netherlands will provide Ukraine with a new batch of F-16 fighter jets this year.
He said this after meeting with Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
According to him, training for Ukrainian pilots, engineers and technicians will continue.
«We expect the next batch of aircraft to be delivered in 2025, and we continue to train pilots, engineers and technicians. The Netherlands plays a key role in the Air Force Coalition, supporting the development of our aviation infrastructure and capabilities», he said.
The parties also discussed drone development projects, air defence supplies, artillery ammunition and interceptor missiles.
«The second priority is drones. They coordinated the allocation of the previously announced €400 million, as well as the preparation of large-scale joint projects on long-range capabilities. Artillery ammunition, air defence systems, and interceptor missiles are also on the agenda. The Netherlands clearly understands our needs and is ready to help», Rustem Umierov said.
Earlier , President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the receipt of the second batch of F-16 fighters from Denmark.
