Zelenskyy declares Italy's readiness to take patronage of Odesa's reconstruction

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Italy is ready to take patronage of the reconstruction of Odesa.

He said this during the international conference Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025.

He thanked Italy and its Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for organising the event and for their consistent support of Ukraine.

«The level of decisions and meetings is really high. We are strengthening the future of Ukraine together,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The Head of State outlined Ukraine's current priorities — strengthening air defence and developing drone production.

«We will be glad to see Italian investments in everything that protects life in Ukraine and will protect Italy in the future. We also continue to work on sanctions and our European integration: we need to accelerate. I thank Italy for its willingness to help,» the President of Ukraine said.

Zelenskyy also thanked Italy for its readiness to join the process of rebuilding Ukraine, in particular Odesa.

As reported earlier, Italy will allocate more than €63 million to implement three large-scale projects in the Odesa region. These are the restoration of cultural heritage sites, healthcare development and modernisation of agricultural infrastructure.
