The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, announced the worsening situation with the executions of Ukrainian soldiers by Russians, stating that their number doubled in 2024 compared to the previous two years of the war combined.
He told about this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
«As of now, over the three years of full-scale war, 177 cases of execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war have been confirmed. The trend has worsened dramatically, as in 2024 alone, 109 executions were officially confirmed», noted Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, Russia continues to wage a hybrid war against Ukraine and he directly experiences this in his work as an ombudsman.
We will remind you that on September 17, the Supreme Council Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets announced another war crime by the Russian army. The Russians executed with a sword an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war with his hands bandaged with tape.
Later, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that a man was stabbed with a sword with the inscription «For Kursk» in Novohrodivka.
