Ukrenergo has introduced emergency power cuts across the country in response to a massive Russian missile attack.
This was reported by Ukrenergo and Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
«Another attack on the Ukrainian power system is taking place. At night, the enemy attacked the gas infrastructure. As of this morning, the energy sector is still under attack. In order to minimise the possible consequences for the power system, the transmission system operator is urgently applying emergency electricity restrictions», the minister said.
He added that the consequences of the attack will be clarified as soon as the security situation allows.
«The restrictions will be cancelled after the air alert is over and the situation in the power system stabilises», Ukrenergo said.
As a reminder, on 10 February, Ukraine introduced power cuts for industry and business due to increased electricity consumption. Ukrenergo reminded that the Ukrainian power system is currently recovering from Russian massive missile and drone attacks.
