The number of fraud cases in Mykolaiv region has almost halved over the year

In 2025, law enforcement officers in the Mykolaiv region opened more than 1,200 criminal proceedings for fraud.

This is according to information from the Mykolaiv region prosecutor's office, as reported by NikVesti.

According to official data, the number of such crimes in the region decreased by almost 46%. While 2,240 cases of fraud were registered in 2024, there were 1,213 in 2025.

At the same time, according to OpenDataBot, in the Odesa region, this figure reached almost three thousand cases per year, and in the Kherson region, 436 such proceedings were opened.

The highest number of fraud cases was recorded in Kyiv — 6,825 cases. Next on the list of regions with the highest number of such crimes are the Dnipropetrovsk region (4,844 proceedings) and the Kharkiv region (3,677 cases).

In total, in 2025, law enforcement agencies registered more than 48,000 criminal proceedings under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, «Fraud». This is approximately a quarter less than in 2024, when the number of such cases reached almost 65,000. At the same time, only one in five cases resulted in charges being brought, and only about 18% of cases reached court.

Earlier it was reported that in the Mykolaiv region, an increase in the level of criminal offences was recorded during 2025, but it remains lower than the national average.
