Petrol stations in the Mykolaiv region were fined more than ₴90 million over the course of a year

In 2025, petrol stations in Mykolaiv region were fined over 90 million hryvnias.

This was reported to NikVesti by the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Mykolaiv region in response to an information request.

During the year, tax authorities conducted 98 inspections and identified the following violations:

  • Some petrol stations sold or stored fuel without a licence.
  • Fuel meters were either missing or malfunctioning, and data on balances and volumes was not transmitted to the state system.
  • Petrol stations did not keep records of goods, did not issue receipts, or used cash registers incorrectly.

«Penalties (financial sanctions) in the amount of over 88 million hryvnias were imposed on business entities,» the response states.

In addition, tax authorities identified eight illegal petrol stations. They were fined more than 2.9 million hryvnias.

As a reminder, 73 licences for the sale of fuel were revoked in the Mykolaiv region in 2025. In particular, licences were revoked due to the absence of the enterprise at the specified address or place of work, as well as due to the storage or sale of unaccounted fuel.

In January 2026, tax authorities in Mykolaiv conducted 79 business inspections. An additional 91.2 million hryvnias were added to the budget. According to the regional office of the State Tax Service, 67 million hryvnias were agreed upon based on the reports for the current and previous years, but only 5.3 million hryvnias were actually paid.

During the inspections, the VAT amounts that companies claimed for reimbursement from the budget were also reduced, and the tax credit was adjusted by 1.6 million hryvnias.
