From 19 to 21 February, Mykolaiv will host the regional boxing championship for junior boys and girls, as well as young men and women. The competition is dedicated to the memory of the fallen heroes of Mykolaiv region.

Yesterday, 19 February, the official opening of the championship took place. The fights started at 13:00, and the opening ceremony was held at 14:00.
According to the organisers, the aim of the championship is to form a team representing the Mykolaiv region, improve the boxing skills of the boxers, and promote boxing among young people. In addition, during the opening of the regional championship, cash prizes were awarded to the finalists of the Ukrainian championship.
«The Mykolaiv Region Boxing Federation awarded two finalists of the Ukrainian championship, Daria Fatych and Rostislav Hrytsevych. There was also a cash prize for third place, which was awarded to Ilchyn Huseinov,» said Vitalii Volkov, representative of the Mykolaiv Region Boxing Federation, in a comment to NikVesti.
It should be noted that the competition was organised by the Youth and Sports Department of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, and was conducted by a panel of judges from the Mykolaiv Regional Boxing Federation.

According to the city council, the competition took place from 9 to 14 February in the Chernivtsi region. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of distinguished Ukrainian coach Oleh Malovaniuk and served as a qualifying stage for the IV Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2026.
