More than 600 children were in «Okhmatdyt» when the Russian rocket hit

When the Russian X-101 missile hit the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, 627 children were there. So far, 94 children have been transferred from the hospital to other medical facilities in Kyiv.
This was reported by the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko on July 9.
According to him, currently 68 children have remained for treatment in the surviving buildings of the hospital.
Another 465 children who needed planned treatment were examined and temporarily discharged home. They keep in touch with their parents.
In addition, according to the Ministry of Health, 8 small patients were injured as a result of a rocket attack on «Okhmatdyt», two adults died.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine organized a visit of more than 30 heads of foreign diplomatic missions to the site of the missile attack on «Okhmatdyt».
Hit on «Okhmatdyt» on July 8
On Monday, June 8, Russia attacked Kyiv. The rocket hit the premises of the National Children's Specialized Hospital «Okhmatdyt».
In total, in the middle of the day, Russia hit Ukraine with 40 missiles. As of evening, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there were 32 dead and 129 injured in Ukraine, in particular in Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih.
As of the evening of July 8, emergency and rescue operations in «Okhmatdyt» continued. It is known that the impact fell on the building, where children were undergoing dialysis - blood purification in case of kidney failure.
During the search and rescue operation, the rescuers retrieved the bodies of two children and their mother from under the rubble.
Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, announced that emergency and rescue operations at the hospital have already been completed : two people died, 32 were injured.
Subsequently, the SSU confirmed that the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv was destroyed by a Russian X-101 cruise missile launched by a bomber during a massive missile attack on Ukraine.
It should be noted that the Minister of Health of Germany Karl Lauterbach announced that his country is ready to accept Ukrainian children for treatment after the Russian attack on the «Okhmatdyt» hospital in Kyiv.
In turn, «Ukrzaliznytsia» provided shelter in the station's lounge areas and provided transportation for all families staying in «Okhmatdyt».
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, said that 100 million hryvnias were allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget for priority restoration work in «Okhmatdyt».
