Yesterday, July 20, a building collapsed in the port of Odessa. Two people were buried under the rubble, one of the men died.

This is reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Odesa region.

«Yesterday evening, July 20, a warehouse building was destroyed on the territory of the Odesa Sea Trade Port,» the message reads.

Rescuers who arrived at the scene found that two men were buried under the rubble during the destruction of the building.

Employees of the State Emergency Service with the help of a hydraulic tool and a gas cutter unblocked a citizen born in 1990. The emergency personnel provided the victim with first aid and handed him over to the medics.

However, it was not possible to save the second man. He was taken out from under the rubble without any signs of life.

As noted, the likely cause of the destruction is a violation of safety techniques during construction work.
