Massive night attack of the Russian Federation: air defense forces destroyed 39 missiles and 20 enemy drones

On Wednesday, May 8, the Russians launched more than 50 missiles and more than 20 Shahed drones at infrastructure in seven regions of Ukraine.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He noted that the Russian occupiers targeted infrastructure in the Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. All necessary services are already in place.

According to the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykola Oleschuk, in total, the Russians used 76 means of air attack — 55 missiles and 21 attack drones. Of these, the Defense Forces destroyed 59 targets: 39 missiles and 20 drones.

In particular, the Russian army launched over Ukraine at night:

• 1 Kh-47M2 «Kinzhal» aeroballistic missile (launched from the Tambov region of the Russian Federation);
• 2 «Iskander-M» ballistic missiles (from Crimea);
• 4 Kalibr cruise missiles (from the Black Sea);
• 45 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area — Saratov region of the Russian Federation, Caspian Sea water area);
• 1 «Iskander-K» cruise missile (from Crimea).
