Mykolaiv received a modern adapted car for the disabled

Mykolaiv received a modern car adapted for people with disabilities. From now on, driving school students can take practical driving tests on it.

This was announced by the deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council, Tetiana Dombrovska, on her Instagram page.

A modern car has been completely converted to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

«People with disabilities in Mykolaiv and the region have been waiting for this opportunity for five years. And finally, we overcome these barriers, giving them the opportunity to obtain licenses and use their own cars both for work and for personal needs,» wrote Tetiana Dombrovska.

It should be noted that this car was handed over within the framework of the «Without Barriers» initiative.

We would like to remind you that in Mykolaiv preparations are underway for the opening of a driving school adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The educational institution will work on the basis of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University.

In Ukraine, with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such schools have already been opened in Lviv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih.

We will remind you that in Ukraine there is a state prosthetics program, within the framework of which combatants and not only can receive prostheses.

Participants in hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of war, some categories of military personnel will be able to receive these services free of charge in hospitals, regardless of their form of ownership. The state compensates medical institutions for the costs of their treatment through the National Health Service of Ukraine.

To get in line for prosthetics, you need to fill out a form. Even before the official opening of the center, the clinic installed bionic prostheses from a British company to two Ukrainian soldiers.

The medical facility will be staffed by highly qualified Ukrainian specialists who will take over the experience of doctors from the world's leading clinics.
