Mykolaiv investigators have established the identity of a Russian soldier who abused civilians during the occupation of Snihurivka district in 2022.

The text of the July 19 indictment against 32-year-old Alikhan Kushkhov was published on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office.

A native of the city of Nalchyk, he was a junior sergeant, the commander of the 2nd division of the reconnaissance platoon of the 205th separate motorized rifle Cossack brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.

In June 2022, Kushkhov, together with other soldiers of the platoon, searched for former Ukrainian soldiers in one of the villages of the Snihurivka region. During the filtering operations, they detained two men, who were thrown into the cellar of the house, where they were held for about an hour. After that, they were taken to the Kherson region for questioning.

In September, Alikhan Kushkhov, together with unidentified Russians, detained a resident of one of the villages of Snihurivka district, who was demanded to admit that her son served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the woman did not admit this, after which the occupiers detained the woman, beat her with fists and machine gun butts, shot at her feet and threatened to kill her.

During the beating, one of the Russian soldiers, in the presence of Kushkhov, held the woman and threatened that they would all rape her.

After that, the Russians returned the woman to her home and continued to interrogate her there. According to the case file, the woman later left the village for the purpose of self-defense.

On October 4, Alikhan Kushkhov, carrying a firearm, detained a minor who was taken to another village where the Russians themselves lived. The teenager was forced to clean the house, which he later punched. After several hours of abuse, the minor was released.

Law enforcement officers accuse Alikhan Kushkhov of violating the laws and customs of war. He faces from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment.

We will remind you that the Security Service of Ukraine announced suspicion against the commander of the Southern District of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, Ihor Turchenyuk, who in 2022 was one of the leaders of the occupation of Mykolaiv Region and Kherson Region.
