In April 2022, the long-range aviation commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Armed Forces Serhii Kobylash ordered an attack on a residential complex in Odesa, where 8 people died. He was informed of the suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war.
This is stated in the text of the suspicion, writes the Court Reporter.
According to the case file, on April 23, 2022, Odesa was bombarded by bombers of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Division of the Russian Air Force's Air Force Base on his orders.
On the same day at 2:20 p.m., a group of three Kh-101 long-range cruise missiles were fired from aircraft that were detected in the area of the village of Vesniana Kvitka, Mykolaiv region.
At 14:27-14:28, bypassing the air defense systems of Ukraine, the missiles entered the airspace of the city of Odessa. At 2:30 p.m., one rocket hit the 16-story residential high-rise residential complex «Tiras». The «Vuzivskyi» business center was also damaged.
The rocket, having hit a residential building, detonated and an explosion occurred. As a result, eight residents died, including an infant. Another 11 civilians received injuries of varying degrees of severity. Many apartments and cars parked near the house were also destroyed.
At the same time, another one of the rockets hit the territory of the Novomiskyi (Tairovskyi) cemetery. One civilian woman was injured, and burial sites were also damaged.
We will remind, among the dead in the residential complex «Tiras» was Valeria Glodan with her 3-month-old daughter Kira and her mother. Valeria's husband Yurii Hlodan was not in the apartment and remained alive. After the tragedy, he was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and died in the war in November 2023.
