The SSU detained a man in the Mykolayiv region who worked as a tactical training instructor, where under the guise of training he scouted the locations of bases of personnel, military equipment and warehouses of the Defense Forces.
Counterintelligence agents detained him red-handed in February 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine reported.
According to law enforcement officers, firearms and ammunition were seized during the search of the detainee's apartment.
The SSU also notes that the enemy henchman was in contact with the pro-Kremlin blogger Serhiy Lebedev (known under the pseudonym Lokhmatyi ), who is hiding in Donetsk and works for the FSS.
According to the investigation, the man contacted him on his own initiative through a popular messenger and offered his help in the war against Ukraine.
In order to collect intelligence, the Russian agent organized tactical training exercises for local residents at military training grounds.
In addition, in order to obtain information, he tried to blindly use Ukrainian defenders, whom he met during field training, say the SSU.
Based on the collected evidence, the court found the perpetrator guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of Article 111 (treason committed during martial law);
- part 1 of Article 263 (storage of military supplies without the permission prescribed by law).
According to the materials of the Ukrainian special service, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
We will remind that the Security Service of Ukraine detained a resident of Mykolaiv on suspicion of working for the special services of the Russian Federation.
Earlier it was reported that a local resident was detained in the Mykolayiv region, who is suspected of monitoring units of the Marines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Mykolayiv region.
