The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that Russia's war against Ukraine should end as soon as possible.
He stated this at a meeting with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
In particular, during the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Pietro Parolin the role of the Vatican in establishing a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine.
«Thank you for your participation in the Summit in Switzerland. This is the first step towards peace, all steps are valuable. It is important that you also support it. We all understand that we have to end this path as soon as possible so as not to lose human lives,» Zelenskyy said.
It should be noted that earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died in the war with Russia as of February 2024 since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. It is also worth noting that Russia lost approximately 568,980 troops during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Also recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that if the war drags on, it will be necessary to find ways to hold elections.
We will remind you that a survey by the Razumkov Center showed that Ukrainians are divided in their views on negotiations with Russia. Most do not agree with Putin's terms. It is noted that 44% of Ukrainians believe that the time has come to start official peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, while 35% are convinced that this is not the case.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that not all territories occupied by Russia can be recaptured by force, sometimes only diplomacy and international influence are needed for this.
