Zelenskyy asked Macron to wait when he called during a press conference

During an online conversation with journalists, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a call from French President Emmanuel Macron.

However, the Ukrainian leader asked his colleague to wait, as he was busy with a press briefing.

«I'm sorry, but I'm talking to journalists now. Can I come back in 15-20 minutes, please? Thank you, bye-bye», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said into the phone.

He then continued to answer questions from the media. Later, a journalist from the French TV channel France24 asked whether the President of Ukraine had really spoken to Emmanuel Macron.

«Yes, I have just spoken to President Emmanuel Macron. We talk to him very often, once a day on average, I would say. We have very close relations between our countries, and he helps us a lot. I am grateful to him for that,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed.

As a reminder, France will provide Ukraine with €195 million in military aid, which will be financed by interest from frozen Russian assets. In addition, France plans to increase the production of military equipment to support both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and its own army.

It should also be noted that the UK and France are working together on a plan to strengthen Ukraine's negotiating position to end the war.
