The Russian night attack on 20 January cost Ukraine approximately €80 million. This is only the cost of the air defence missiles used to repel the strike.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in comments to journalists, according to hromadske.
«We are receiving appropriate aid packages. For example, today's Russian attack cost us — in terms of the cost of missiles alone — about €80 million. Imagine that amount. Every day, we do everything we can to have the necessary missiles and protection for people. We insist on ending the war as soon as possible, because first and foremost we are losing people, and also because it is extremely difficult to find these missiles and the funds to pay for them. For Russia, war is an expensive luxury, but for us it is a huge loss,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised.
It should be noted that on the night of 20 January, Russian troops attacked Ukraine, launching 339 drones and 34 missiles of various types, including the Zircon anti-ship missile, Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles and Kh-101 cruise missiles.
Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Rivne and other regions came under fire.
As of 10:00 a.m., Ukraine's air defence forces had destroyed or suppressed 342 air targets: 14 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles, 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles and 315 drones in the north, south, east and centre of the country.
As a reminder, as a result of the Russian attack on the night of 20 January, 5,635 multi-storey residential buildings in Kyiv were left without heat. The left bank of the city is also currently without water supply.
