President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he sees a chance to end Russia's war against Ukraine before the midterm elections in the United States, which will take place in November.

This was reported by European Truth, citing an interview with Sky News.

«Now I believe we have a chance. Between us, what I really think about next year... it depends on these months — whether we will have the opportunity to end the war before autumn. Before the elections — important, influential elections in the United States. If we manage to achieve peace, then we have this window of opportunity; now this window is open,» the head of state said.

He stressed that much depends on the coming months and on the ability of partners to increase pressure on Russia.

«The United States is even stronger than it thinks it is. And I really believe that. They can really put pressure on Putin. They can stop this war,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

The president also described his relationship with Donald Trump as «not easy», while noting that the partnership between Ukraine and the United States is much broader than the personal relationships between politicians.

It should also be recalled that US President Donald Trump is in favour of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signing a peace agreement with Russia, as well as an agreement with the United States and European countries on security guarantees — preferably during a grand ceremony marking the end of the war.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, against the backdrop of reports of new deadlines from the United States for ending the war against Ukraine, said that Moscow is not setting any deadlines.
