On Tuesday, 3 March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered Ukrainian interceptor drones to Persian Gulf countries, but under certain conditions.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Zelenskyy's remarks at a briefing after a meeting of the National Security and Defence Council.
The president noted that Ukraine is ready to share its experience and transfer drones that are used to repel massive air attacks. In return, Kyiv expects to receive PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems, which are urgently needed.
«Today, they have air defence systems, Patriot, PAC-3 missiles, they have it all. Is this important? Very important. For them, first and foremost. But does it protect against hundreds of Shaheds? We know it doesn't. It's not a working model. But we have a shortage of PAC-3s. For example, if we are talking about weapons during the war that we are short of, then PAC-3s, missiles, if they give them to us, we will give them interceptors. It's an equal exchange,» the president said.
The President emphasised that Ukraine will not transfer weapons that are critical to its own defence. But it is ready to share knowledge and teach them how to protect the civilian population and effectively use air defence systems.
«And if missiles are flying at us, well, with all due respect, we are here and we will defend our state,» said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed sending Ukrainian specialists to intercept Iranian drones in the Middle East if the region's leaders can convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a month-long truce in the war.
