The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavskyi, on Monday summoned the Russian ambassador Oleksandr Zmeevskyi in connection with the cyber attacks on Czech institutions and critical infrastructure.

Ukrinform writes about this with reference to the Czech mass media.

«We called on the Russian Federation to refrain from such actions that contradict the UN standards and its personal obligations,» said Jan Lipavskyi.

He emphasized that there is no doubt about the involvement of the Russian GRU in cyber attacks. According to the minister, Russia's deliberate actions were aimed at endangering the security and stability of the Czech Republic.

It is noted that some Czech state institutions have been the object of attacks by hackers since last year, who took advantage of a previously unknown critical vulnerability in Microsoft Outlook. The method and direction of the attacks corresponded to the activity profile of the ART28 group, with which the Russian military intelligence (GRU) is connected.

Cyber attacks were aimed at government agencies and the energy sector. The error in the system used by the hackers has already been fixed, said Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization Ivan Bartosz.

It will be recalled that Ukrainian hackers, who are associated with the SSU cyber department, destroyed the data center used by Russian industrial giants. Among them are Gazprom, Lukoil, Telecom and leading enterprises of the Russian military industry.
